Jeff tells in very funny terms about what he calls The Japanese Phenomenon of Indoor Shoes vs. Outdoor Shoes. He goes on to explain that every time you walk into a building you leave your outdoor shoes in a locker and instead put on indoor shoes or slippers. And in some places you are required to wear no shoes at all, like restaurants or carpeted rooms. At this point Jeff comes to the Fuzzy Slipper Syndrome. Jeff is astounded by the fact that when it comes to indoor footwear the Japanese put fashion considerations aside and prefer comfortable slippers. And this leads to the punch line of this post, where Jeff tells about the most important event of the year - the Graduation ceremony, and how formal attire of black dresses and kimonos combine with a gallery of character slippers.
